MOORE FOLK
A concert at high quality American bluegrass and country swing on the 22nd heralds a week-end ol lolk music overthe hills in Penicuik. Their mini-lestival has a ceilidh with pipers, dancers, guests and a late bar commencing 8pm Fri 24th in the Town Hall £2.50.
Saturday’s venue is the Navaar
House Hotel (on Bog Road) where there
is a singaround compered by Danny Kyle at 12.30pm and the usual instrumental session going in the bar. At 5.30pm Barbara McDermitt will be storytelling. There are exhibitions, stalls, records, instrument makers, crafts and Punch and Judy shows with light meals available lrom lunchtime.

In the evening, same venue, 7.30pm £2.00, Blackeyed Biddy, a much enjoyed group of traditionalish players and singers share a concert with the beautiful vocal duets of Christine Kydd and Janet Russell, and guests. Christy Moore (see photo) is back in Edinburgh (17th). Out of Planxty by Moving Hearts, Christy continues his solo career, his concerts including more and more contemporary and sell penned song.
