REVOLUTIONARY ART
Revolution is in the air. or at least on the walls of two Glasgow venues this month. Posters from the Spanish Civil War, muscular and defiant, will be on display in the Mitchell Library from 17 July and photographs from the Mexican Revolution lind space in the Collins Gallerytrom 9July.
Both owe their showing now to the dedictaion to the cause of one individual. The posters were collected by a young Scot, Ethel MacDonald when working in Spain as a radio announcer lor the anarchists in 1936 and the photographs taken from an archive of 40,000 glass negatives begun by Augustin Victor Casasola, a reporterturned news-photographer in Mexico City. Both exhibitions will be reviewed in the next issue of The List. (Alice Bain).
