SINGING SANDS
The Sands family are long established in the Irish music scene. Nowadays Tommy and Colum perform all over Europe and North America as a duo and
they played the Glasgow Arts Centre recently.
Left Turns are bringing them to Edinburgh’s Pleasance Theatre (25 June) and will also be performing in the concert. The Brothers have been successful on radio and television. have released several albums and their .
stage show ‘Humpty Dumpty was Pushed’ was a hit in Glasgow some years ago. Dick Gaughan is one among many singers who perform their songs such as ‘You Daughters And Your Sons’ or ‘Whatever You Say, Say Nothing’. There was an Orange Parade down Lelth Walk last Saturday morning and from a window a man shouted ‘Sands' above the flute band. It is a surname that reverberates in the sectarian divide.
