Ege Bam Yasi: ‘Circumstances’. The weirdos who came in lrom the cold. Ege Bam Yasi have ditched a lot or their gimmicky trappings and put out a disc or unashamed commerciality. Lots ol up-to-date thunderbolt crashing, a
Giorgio Moroder synth bassline and an irresistible melody. Just when you think they’re getting a bit overboard on the hi-tech disco trappings, a piece at that gorgeous tune hits you smack in the lace again. Lovely. The Ghost Train: ‘Killing Time/Hope And Glory’ (Kingdom Come). Already getting Colin Sommerville and his listeners pretty excited. a lairly invigorating Clash-style workout. A bit like The Blazing Apostles, which isn‘t too much at a surprise since they're both lrom Kirkcaldy. There‘s a snatch ol ‘Killing Time‘ which surprisingly recalls the Mary Chain‘s ‘Just Like Honey’. Worth a try but not essential. Plague ol Fools: ‘Hearts ol Hearts’ f (Partizan Pestilenti).
