Although attendance at jazz concerts continues to rise, Platform Edinburgh is having problems. There is always a need for money, and a Jazz Jamboree is to be held as a fund raiser in the
Queens Hall on the 14th. ltwill run from
lunchtime deep into the night. There will be continuous live music from a wealth of talent, competitions including a jazz quiz, food and fun. Details from Platform 226 4179. Platform Glasgow‘s successful weekly jazz club has the spectacular
guitar style of Anton Kirkpatrick with
his recording partners ‘Nuages’ on the
5th, and Fiona Duncan's famed vocal ‘ licks on the 12th. Topping the week will ' be the appearance of the 29th Street Saxaphone Quartet (photo). The Moir Hall audience onthe 8th, will be stunned by their vigorous declamation of American Jazz.
