NICK’S ON HENDERSON STREET Nairn is back with a new restaurant The one-time youngest Scottish Michelin Star holder (for Braeval near Aberfoyle in 1991) and former Glasgow restaurateur has opened up a new spot in Bridge of Allan. This joint venture from Nick Nairn and his wife Julia is dishing up a family-friendly all- day menu, from breakfasts and brunches to pizzas, burgers and classier bistro dishes. Of course, Nairn has never really gone away: regular appearances at his 20-year-old cook school at the Lake of Menteith continue to pack in the punters, and he also runs the Kailyard restaurant at Dunblane’s Doubletree Hilton. Coincidentally – we presume – the TV programme that helped make Nairn a household name, Ready Steady Cook, has recently returned to BBC One after a decade away, this time fronted by the affable Rylan Clark-Neal.
