LUBAINA HIMID: BREAKING IN, BREAKING OUT, BREAKING UP,
BREAKING DOWN The winner of the 2017 Turner Prize will present a major new sculptural work in the main hall of Kelvingrove, with a suspended train character hurtling through space, adorned by mythical creatures which are responses to the architecture of the building around them. IQHIYA The iQhiya collective is a group of black female artists from Cape Town whose practice revolves around conversations on feminism, colonialism and politics. Their site-specii c work in Glasgow is a response to the historical and contemporary erasure of female artists in Scotland. Transmission Gallery, Fri 20 Apr–Mon 7 May.

XSEXCENTENARY: NOT DEAD YET Presented by GI and the Scottish Poetry Library, Not Dead Yet is a collaboration between Kate Clayton, Wanda Zyborska, Katherine Araniello and Norma D Hunter (aka XSexcentenary) which involves a ‘One Stop Memorial Shop’ on Duke Street for women who have died, and a series of Sunday Necropolis performances. ULRIKE OTTINGER: STILL MOVING Exploring Eastern Europe, China and her home city of Berlin, i lmmaker and photographer Ulrike Ottinger works in a quasi-documentary fashion which concerns itself with exploring different cultures and ethnographies.
