MUSIC TRNSMT
Whether we’ll be saying ‘T in the What?’ remains to be seen but Glasgow Green is certainly playing host to an impressive array of acts for this weekender which is set to remind the city what it’s been missing on the music festival front. Among the barnstorming big names are Radiohead, Belle and Sebastian, Kasabian, the 1975 and George Ezra (pictured) but further down the bill lurk plenty pleasures such as the hotly-tipped Louis Berry, the Van T’s, and the ideally titled JR Green. See feature, page 30. Glasgow Green, Fri 7–Sun 9 Jul.

Everyone seems to be marking an anniversary in Edinburgh so why not the Jazz Fest? There’s a celebration of Ella, Dizzy and Monk’s centenaries while the contemporary likes of Ibibio Sound Machine, Kandace Springs and Yussef Dayes (pictured) add to the mix. See feature, page 88. Various venues, Edinburgh, Fri 14–Sun 23 Jul. Not too long now til the ultimate fate of Westeros is settled as the battle for bloody control is ramped up a dozen notches or so. The remaining Lannisters and Starks are joined by Jim Broadbent, Bastille and, wait for it, Ed Sheeran, while the White Walkers no doubt have something awful up their icy sleeves for the North. See Highlights, page 111. Sky Atlantic, starts Sun 16 Jul.
