NEIL FORBES Cafe St Honoré doesn’t add much to its already

wonderful Parisian feel. We simply add a few twinkles to the lighting and have our own Christmas puddings for sale; and of course, the smell of mixed spice i lls the space with Christmassy aromas!

The look that we are aiming for this year is ‘Disney for grown- ups’, maybe a little less corporate with emphasis on festive fun. Christmas is the time to eat, drink and be merry, after all!

In years gone by, we have had silver birch trees, fairy lights and other magical Christmas fayre. This year we have something

special planned with pheasant wings.

December itself has a powerful effect on the restaurant: the grey skies and darker nights seem to enhance the Edinburgh scenery which can be enjoyed from four different dining areas.

Cascades of fairy lights draped across the terrace, the smell of Thai-spiced mulled wine, incense and the electric buzz of

excitement in the air really is one that must be experienced: it’s

my favourite time of year! We hope to create a relaxed, cosy and fun place where our customers can share a memorable

moment with colleagues, friends and family.

Both of our restaurants have put on our Christmas fur so we’re extremely warm and winter-friendly for the season.

The restaurant gets all twinkly. We have these fabby porcelain

lights on each table. They

are lithographs and the light shines through the different layers of porcelain to give a real 3D effect. We always end up selling them to customers

because they love them so much. We are dei nitely going

for a cosy twinkly effect.
