PEACHES CHRIST’S BEAR-BARELLA
You all know (or are at least somewhat aware of) Barbarella, the cult 1968 movie starring Jane Fonda as a sexy space saviour. You’re perhaps less familiar with the work of San Francisco drag queen Peaches Christ, whose own 50-minute live-action parody, Bear-barella, will precede a screening of the movie at the GFT this October, with the assistance of fellow drag artist Lady Bear, plus some very special guests. Ms Christ urges attendees to dress in their best alien attire for the event, lending an immersive Rocky Horror vibe to the proceedings. There’s also talk of ‘public pleasuring’ with the ‘Orgasmatron Challenge’, too. You have been warned. ■ Glasgow Film Theatre, Fri 10 Oct.
