TO SEE OURSELS Scotland’s history, culture and identity on film over the past four decades is celebrated with this touring festival which takes place across six venues spanning the length of the country, from Inverness to Dumfries. The varied lineup features classics such as Bill Forsyth’s Local Hero and Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting, to less well-known depictions such as TV drama Your Cheatin’ Heart which stars Tilda Swinton and Ken Stott and the BBC’s adaptation of the 1970s play The Cheviot, the Stag and the Black, Black Oil. The season also includes expert introductions, panel discussions and new releases, such as From Scotland with Love (pictured), which consists entirely of archival footage of Scots at work and at play, featuring a soundtrack by List favourite King Creosote.
