cake to charcuterie.
Last year you might remember we gave our award for best newcomer to Leith pub The Vintage. Coincidentally, this May the team behind that fine establishment will launch an ambitious new venture in Glasgow called Drygate, an intriguing brewery, bar and kitchen located in the city’s east end. Our interest was piqued and on page 12 you can read the lowdown on the new space. Meanwhile south of the Clyde, we’ve noticed there are more and more exciting events and projects popping up. It seems that community and grassroots initiatives in the Southside are blooming. On page 15 we look at what’s happening in the area and celebrate some of Scotland’s other DIY endeavours including choirs, gardens and cafes. We’ve also asked for some of your suggestions, which get a mention on page 2. They’re a wonderful reminder that there’s an awful lot of inspired thinking happening right on our doorstep.
