What’s it all about? A brand new Easter weekender curated by The Arches, aiming to bring together some of the various genres and sounds heard at the venue all year round. Thursday is a clear nod to Death Disco, the venue’s beloved club night of ten years, while Friday and Saturday’s events showcase the sweep of genres that The Arches has played host to over the past 20 years. We have chart-topping-yet-credible house giant MK playing alongside legendary favourites such as John Digweed and David Morales, the hotter side of contemporary house in Eats Everything and George Fitzgerald, plus some Who? Thursday has Erol Alkan, Daniel Avery and Marc Houle (with Items and Things). Friday features Eats Everything, David Morales, George Fitzgerald, Boddika, Mano Le Tough, Shonky, Catz ‘N Dogz, Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins. And Saturday hosts MK, John Digweed, Ben Pearce, DJ EZ, Jozif, No Artii cial Colours and Guti. Plus, there are impressive residents across all three days, including Doc Daneeka and DJ Haus. Favourite festival to play? It’s difi cult to decide, but I think for its place in my heart, Sonar takes it. Favourite club to play? There are quite a few: The Block in Tel Aviv, Loft in Barcelona, Womb in Tokyo.
But it has to be the classic Panorama Bar in Berlin. Favourite city to chill out in? For actually relaxing, I like Munich: it’s calm and perfect and orderly and I can shop and eat and see the Bayern Munich doctor.
For spending ‘off time’, it’s Tokyo, which is still the most exciting place to spend time.
