ART SCREEN A new film festival is coming to Glasgow this spring courtesy of BBC Arts. Art Screen is a four-day event featuring films, discussions and workshops focused exclusively on art documentaries. Kicking off proceedings is the world premiere of Rio, a new film from Julien Temple (known for his music documentaries The Filth and the Fury and Oil City Confidential) about the intoxicating Brazilian capital. There’s also a chance to see The Big Melt, a tribute to Britain’s steelworks from Martin Wallace and Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker, and a rare screening of Italianamerican, a 1974 documentary by Martin Scorsese which gives an intimate insight into the legendary director’s upbringing.
