SAMHUINN FIRE FESTIVAL Beltane is always a popular, fiery way of celebrating springtime in Edinburgh, but its autumnal little sister, Samhuinn, is just as bright, toasty and fun – 6,000 spectators attended last year’s Hallowe’en event run by the Beltane Fire Society. Gather on the Royal Mile to watch as summer is overthrown by winter, through an unfolding ritual of pagan storytelling, street theatre and dance.
