THE NEW MENDICANTS Since their work with Norwegian band I Was A King last year Norman Blake and Joe Pernice have united once again – this time as The New Mendicants, along with The Sadies drummer Mike Belisky. Ahead of a debut album due in early 2014, the band have released the ‘Australia 2013’ EP which serves as a very nice introduction. Alongside three original tracks, the EP boasts a nifty INXS cover as well as two songs which see both artists visit their rich musical past, with Teenage Fanclub’s ‘I Don’t Want Control Of You’ and The Pernice Brother’s ‘Amazing Glow’.
