SOUNDLAB 2013 The music industry is a notoriously tricky career to get into, but thanks to Chem19 Chemikal Underground’s recording studio offshoot in Blantyre young, aspiring Scottish producers and engineers have another route into it. The studio’s SoundLAB course is rolling round once again in 2013, offering 12 applicants hands-on tuition in a commercial studio environment. The course is open to applicants aged 18–25, lasts for nine months (Oct 2013–Jun 2014), and costs a very meagre £50 for the whole shebang.
