NATURAL SCOTLAND ON SCREEN As part of the Year of Natural Scotland, this short season showcases films inspired by Scotland’s natural landscapes, wildlife and biodiversity. Included in the programme are Rivers and Tides (Sun 18 Aug), which casts an eye over the work of land artist and sculptor Andy Goldsworthy; The Illusionist (pictured above, Sun 25 Aug), an evocative animation reimagining 1950s Edinburgh; and Michael Powell’s intense drama The Edge of the World (Tue 27 Aug) about the decreasing population of Scotland’s outer isles. Two transvestites and a transsexual go on a trip across the Australian outback for a drag show. A mythical, futuristic tale of post-holocaust Tokyo, where pill- popping biker kids begin to unearth a dodgy government project.
