DANNY BROWN If you think this gap-toothed, crazy-haired Detroit rapper looks like the antithesis of the blinged out rap game, wait til you hear his lyrics. ‘I got that income tax swag!’ he yells out incongruously on ‘Lie4’; elsewhere, Spongebob’s neighbour gets a shout out on the title track from his album XXX: ‘AKs with bayonets on deck, rep my set / Sorta like Squidward and his clarinet.’ Clearly, this is not a man who takes himself too seriously - expect a humorous, party-like atmosphere at this Arches gig, with support from Jackmaster and Pro Vinylist Karim. ■ The Arches, Glasgow, Sat 15 Jun.
