TATTOO NATION Apparently, one in three American adults has a tattoo nowadays: a remarkable number for an artform that, not so long ago, was mainly associated with sailors, prisoners, gang members and other cast-outs from society. Body art doc Tattoo Nation examines how tattoos entered the mainstream, featuring interviews with some of showbusiness’ most famous tat-sporters (actor Danny Trejo, Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker) as well as some of the needle-wielding artists who helped make it happen (including artists-to-the-stars Mark Mahoney and Mister Cartoon, photo-realists Ed Hardy, Charlie Cartwright and Jack Rudy, Sailor Jerry alumnus Kate Hellenbrand and star of tat reality show LA Ink, Corey Miller). ■ Odeon cinemas across the country, Tue 23 Apr.
