DEAD BY DAWN PRELUDE To celebrate Scotland’s International Horror Festival’s 20th anniversary in 2013 (ooh, don’t they grow up fast, etc etc), the Filmhouse are hosting a ‘prelude’ season comprised of some of the best movies from Dead By Dawn’s past. Tarantino’s spaghetti southern is giddily violent, shockingly profane and never boring. General release. From wretched title to poorly conceived premise, this dispiriting exercise in franchise flogging lacks the tense action and engaging character drama that made the series so beloved in the first place.
