INTERTIDAL A unique film performance from Canadian artist Alex MacKenzie, inspired by the work of 1940s marine scientist Ed Ricketts and French filmmaker Jean Painlevé (known for his striking underwater short nature films). Presented on two 16mm projections, Intertidal is described as a subversive look at marine ecology. It simultaneously explores the fragility of the medium of film and the marine environment it captures using an inventive array of experimental film techniques, including live manipulation.
