H e may have rid himself of those mad locks, but Andrew Lawrence’s comedic strength has been far from cut off. With a change of appearance, however, has come a shift in direction and his comedy act is less psycho and more curmudgeon these days (in character and on stage he once threatened to do unspeakable things to a particular body part of a List comedy reviewer, not realising that his intended victim was a member of the press corps).

is Coming to Get You, a title which perhaps belies this less menacing persona. These days the curious fanbase he built from his time as religious builder Marco on Ideal may have been increased by the Radio 4 types who enjoyed his musings on What to Do If You’re Not Like Everybody Else and How Did We End Up Like This?
