MAILBOX HELL TOUPÉ Re: You’ve Been Trumped – Anthony Baxter interview I cannot believe that we have allowed ourselves as an independent country to be steamrollered by the vulgar and crude Trump. A country that lives honestly and decently, and suffers its own citizens being bullied by our own police. A shameful disgrace. Why did we ever found America? Well done Anthony on exposing this – Alex Salmond should be deeply disgraced, if not ashamed. Comment posted by PoppyRocket on list.co.uk
ASK BOB Bob Servant, window cleaning kingpin and beneficiary of Dundee’s Cheeseburger Wars, turns Agony Uncle for The List
Bob, What did you make of the American election? Yours, Carol F, Dundee Carol, When America sneezes, Britain shits itself so I have made sure to watch the whole thing unfold very closely. The Romney boy lost me when I read that he wears special underpants. The only man in Broughty Ferry with special underpants is Slim Smith and he’s 28 stone and hardly presidential material. I once walked past Slim’s house and saw a pair of his underpants drying on the line. They looked like the mid-sail of the HMS Bounty. For that reason, I am an Obama man. Yours, Bob
Dear Bob, The cold nights are drawing in, which I presume curtails a lot of your social activity. How are you filling your time this autumn? Yours, Alan F, London Alan, Autumn is a special time for me. I like seeing the trees lose their leaves, particularly the more arrogant varieties, and autumn also means fireworks night. We had a terrific time this year in Broughty Ferry, firing all our rockets at Fife and writing rude messages with sparklers. Most importantly of all, it means that Christmas is on the way and I’ll have a very special Christmas message in next month’s issue of The List. Don’t miss it! Your Servant, Bob Servant

FANDOM OF THE OPERA Re: The Phantom of the Opera Went to see Phantom of the Opera on 15 October at Edinburgh Playhouse. It was an outstanding performance: Earl Carpenter must rank as the best Phantom since Michael Crawford. 2500 people in audience on a Monday night! Best value for £50 I
have ever had. Well done Edinburgh! Comment posted by edinburgh hound on list.co.uk TIME OF YOUR LIFE Re: American Idiot (●●●●●) What a great musical. From start to i nish,
the show was amazing. The cast were incredible – had great voices and energy. I am not the biggest Green Day fan but I was surprised at how many songs I knew and would have enjoyed it even if I didn’t know any. American Idiot is loud, sexy, sassy and really good fun. Go and see it! Comment posted by Redleader on list.co.uk
