SOUL SISTER If you’re looking for an alternative to the Christmas panto onslaught, you could do a lot worse that scoring a ticket to this new musical inspired by the life and career of Tina Turner. Soul Sister, which explores the star’s tumultuous career and turbulent relationship with her ex-husband Ike, features all the greatest hits from the grandmother of rock, including ‘River Deep Mountain High’, ‘Proud Mary’ and ‘Simply the Best’, with a highly acclaimed performance from Emi Wokoma in the central role. ■ Edinburgh Festival Theatre, Mon 3–Sat 8 Dec.
