What time is breakfast? Any time up to an hour after check- out, unless breakfast’s included. Tea or coffee?
Double espresso (no sugar) for me; black with milk and no sugar for Simon and peppermint tea for Steev, thanks. Never, ever that weak piss they serve in Starbucks.
Smoking or non-smoking? Despite my best attempts to the contrary, smoking. Sweet or savoury snacks? Personally, sweet. There’s a café where I stay in Paisley called Drennans Finest Food, and they do the best coffee and the best cheesecake ever.
What food do you miss when you tour? Seafood – we’ve got two non-fish eaters in our touring party so fish is almost never on the menu. But I love salmon, sea bass and most shellfish. Who’s the best cook you know? My stepmum, probably. At least once a week I try and visit my dad and her for dinner.
What’s on your rider? Beer and good quality vodka. Nothing says ‘I wish I didn’t book you for this show’ like Aldi’s own brand Tamova. Any promoter who rocks us up a bottle of Russian Standard, Absolut or Stoli has friends for life. Get us Grey Goose or Belvedere and we’ll marry you.
Which country/ city has the best food? France. We played at a place in Toulouse called Le Bikini, which had the greatest catering I’ve ever tasted.
Do you eat out a lot? A Japanese place on Sauchiehall Street called Nanakusa is my favourite restaurant on planet Earth.
Do you drink onstage? Yeah, depending on the length of our set. Up to 45 minutes is one beer, an hour is two, over an hour is three. ■ Errors play Electric Circus, Edinburgh, Sat 13 Oct.
