Our friend Nick used to store a little retired wooden boat outside our house, until snow, rain and our children made it unfit for use. We had to order a skip for it.
Only days after I dumped it, the door bell rang and a charming women asked if she could take the boat. Her plan was to use it to decorate the stage of a small music festival. I agreed, and she collected the boat. A week later, to our surprise, we received two weekend tickets to Doune the Rabbit Hole. It
looks pretty good: Optimo’s Twitch, The Phantom Band (pictured) and Aidan Moffat & Bill Wells are playing, the kids’ activities look good and it’s only 30 mins from Glasgow. If you decide to go, remember to look out for a small boat on-stage. It’s probably Nick’s. Doune the Rabbit Hole, DunCarron Fort, near Doune, Fri 24–Sun 26 Aug.
