Slam continue to invite their pals to their more intimate get together at the Subbie. This month they are joined by Nic Fanciulli, who has his feet firmly planted in both the house and techno world. His love of hypnotic tribal rhythms is probably best showcased on his own Saved Records imprint, which has seen releases by the likes of Harvey McKay, Yousef, Mark Broom and even Pete Tong; as well as his own collaborations with Rolando, Gary Beck and Stacey Pullen. Regularly working alongside Andy Chatterly as Buick Project, the duo even picked up a Grammy nomination in 2007 in the Best Remix category for their rerub of Tiefschwarz’s ‘Damage’, featuring vocals by Tracey Thorn. ■ Sub Club, Glasgow, Fri 10 Aug.
