ART’S COMPLEX SUMMER SHOW
It’s definitely worth straying off the beaten track this August to take in the first ever summer showcase of work at one of Edinburgh’s artistic ‘hidden gems’. Art’s Complex is a residency and exhibition space housed in a former local government office building that now plays host to some 300 creative types. The inaugural summer exhibition, which is to become an annual event, features painting, installation, video, sculpture and photography by established and emerging artists from Scotland and overseas, including Alan McGowan, whose work is pictured above. ■ Art’s Complex, 661 1924, 3–19 Aug, 11am–7pm, free. 2–9 Aug 2012 THE LIST 87
