Ellie Harrison: Early Warning Signs Taking a stroll up Sauchiehall Street past the CCA over the past six months passers-by may have noticed a spinning street sign bearing a strange message, ‘climate’ on one side and ‘change’ on the other. The sign is one of a series from Scottish artist Ellie Harrison, placed outside arts venues on busy shopping streets, that aim to be a simple and playful way of catching people’s attention, distracting them from their shopping with a stark reminder of the consequences of excessive consumption. As well as the CCA the other 2012 host venues are Site Gallery in Sheffield, Dundee Contemporary Arts and Glasgow’s Trongate 103. ■ CCA, Glasgow, until Mon 24 Dec.
