ROCK&POP Music
Holy Esque
After forming in 2011, Glasgow band Holy Esque have been creating atmospheric soundscapes, complete with haunting Joy Division-like guitar and rasping, desperate vocals from singer Pat Hynes. Their Edinburgh date is hosted by Edinburgh label Bainbridge Music, with support from Blank Canvas and Edinburgh School for the Deaf. ■ King Tuts, Glasgow, Fri 20 Jul, part of Summer Nights; Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh, Sat 21 Jul.
