Late’n’Live
Every Friday and Saturday the Jazz Bar hosts a late session of funk, jazz, soul and even indie. This month, names including Cinematic Orchestra’s Stuart McCallum (4 May), The Foo Birds (11 May) and Big Hand (19 May) guest. However the real highlight has to be the return of the Hidden Orchestra (pictured) on 27 Apr and their two-drummer powered mix of samples, dub basslines, jazz funk and hip hop as showcased on their debut album Night Walks released on Tru Thoughts. ■ The Jazz Bar, Edinburgh, Weekly Fri & Sat.
