Mailbox Ask Bob
BOB SERVANT, window cleaning kingpin and beneficiary of Dundee’s Cheeseburger Wars, turns Agony Uncle for The List
Bob, Where do you stand on the Edinburgh/Glasgow divide? Should we all live in one big melting pot (Cumbernauld) or would that lead to rivers of salt and sauce? Wee G, Finnieston Wee G, Asking me to choose between Glasgow and Edinburgh is like asking me to choose between Hitler and Mussolini (and I’d choose Mussolini who, for me, was really just ‘Diet Hitler’). I think you Glasgow and Edinburgh mobs are as bad as each other with your spiky hair, your top- end Ford Sierras and your ‘mañana, mañana’ attitudes. Get a real job. All the very best, Bob
Hi Bob Have the recent maritime disasters put you off ocean cruising? I hope not. Captain Georgio Shagger Captain Shagger, Thanks for getting in touch. I’ve always loved the sea and living in Broughty Ferry I can stare at it for hours. I suppose I think of the sea as a clever old man who has a few tricks up his sleeve, still knows how to have a good time and keeps a close eye on sharks. I suppose what I’m saying in a very clever way is that the sea reminds me of myself, and that’s no bad thing. Stay dry, Bob

SAY LUVVIE LOVE-IN Re: The Marriage of Figaro (●●●●●, 695) The play was entertaining, witty and very funny. Fantastic performances all round. Comment posted by Mrs Manca, Edinburgh at list.co.uk
Re: South Pacific (●●●●●, 690) What a wonderful show! The set was beautiful and singers excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable evening out – hit after hit! :)
Comment posted by Morvenna, Edinburgh at list.co.uk GRUFFALO GRUFFALO GRUFFALO . . . Re: Easter Days Out (695) Took my 2.5 year-old (who loves the book) to see The Gruffalo. Very disappointed. Minimal effort on costumes and set. Hopefully they will revise it to suit kids – making the animals and Gruffalo actually recognisable, rather than being clever with jokes that adults will get but will go over the kids’ heads. The sound was also very poor so couldn’t really hear what was said even though we were in good seats in the stalls. Comment posted by smithgil, Edinburgh at list.co.uk
