Learn more about the amphibians living in and around the park’s ponds and see what you can do to make their lives easier. FREE The Old Easterhouse Mosaic Wake Sat 28 Apr, noon–4pm. An event to say farewell to the old Easterhouse mosaic (now replaced by a new GI commission from Alex Frost), with salvaged pieces resurrected for a final celebration. FREE Drawing In Saturdays, 3pm. CCA, 350 Sauchiehall Street, 352 4900. A space to draw, create and exchange ideas in the foyer of the cultural melting pot that is the CCA. Open to all ages, including kids. Materials are not provided but occasional talks, events and workshops are.

FREE Glasgow Protest Against Exploitation of Musicians Sun 29 Apr, 1pm. George Square. A peaceful (but not necessarily quiet!) protest against what are known as ‘pay to play’ schemes, where musicians are expected to sell tickets for their own gigs on behalf of promoters, and hand over the money too. streetland.net Community festival and street party in Glasgow’s Govanhill. The third edition is presided over by a giant puppet mascot, intriguingly named the Phantom Stag, who will lead visitors between events including cinema, music and street theatre, exhibitions and sound art installations. Also planned for the weekend are a mobile soup kitchen, a wandering storyteller, a dance workshop, some specially commissioned bunting, and lots more. See preview, page 37.
