Laura Barnard is a UK-based illustrator who specialises in detailed, quirky cityscapes, intricate patterns and quirky maps. She’s lived in Edinburgh (twice) and is still very fond of the city despite now living Down South. The combination of a background in fine art with a degree in
graphic design (along with experience in the world of production and project management) means that behind those wobbly lines and buildings of dubious perspective there’s a technically adept and efficient woman working away.
Laura has worked with a variety of clients, from her cityscapes being shipped as desktop wallpapers on millions of HP laptops to illustrating a plush short-run hardback book for Ted Baker. Between commercial jobs, she works on private commissions and prints. She recently launched a set of limited edition objects for sale at 30x30 – everything is priced at £30 and there are 30 of each edition. ■ laurabarnard.co.uk
