AroundTown Fascinating Mummies

As its first new exhibition of 2012, the National Museum of Scotland will be showcasing unique treasures from the National Museum of Antiques in Leiden, renowned for its Egyptian artifacts. The first major show since the National Museum’s reopening and the first stop for the exhibition in the UK, Fascinating Mummies will look at the intriguing death rituals of the culture and how scientists and archaeologists in the modern day go about researching the Egyptians. Forget Brendan Fraser running around in a linen shirt and chinos these mummies are the real deal, with some artifacts dating back to 4000BC. National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, Sat 11 Feb–Sun 27 May. 46 THE LIST 2 Feb–1 Mar 2012
