GLASGOW FILM FESTIVAL With 239 lms and events, the 2012 Glasgow Film Festival is the biggest yet, so we’ve upped our coverage accordingly. GFF {ESSENTIAL INFO}

The festival proper takes place from Thu 16–Sun 26 Feb, with the fortnight beforehand given over to the Glasgow Youth Film Festival and the Glasgow Short Film Festival. The festival box offi ce is located in the Glasgow Film Theatre (12 Rose Street) you can buy tickets here in person, over the phone (0141 332 6535) or on the festival website (glasgowfi lm.org/festival). Standard ticket price is £8, with ticket deals available for buying online and for lms in the FrightFest and GYFF strands. There are some free events, and some events (such as gigs in the Glasgow Music and Film Festival strand) will cost more.

The GFT and Cineworld (7 Renfrew Street, 0871 200 2000) are the two main venues for the festival, although events will also take place at venues around the city, including the CCA (350 Sauchiehall Street, 0141 352 4900) and the Arches (253 Argyll Street, 0141 565 1000).
