Despite the name DMX Krew is in fact one man techno/electro pioneer Ed DMX (aka Ed Upton). Most of his electronic output has come via Aphex Twins’ Rephlex label which makes perfect sense when you hear his trippy bass heavy acidic productions that revel in a retro futurism achieved by his love of vintage synths, drum machines and samplers. ■ Jak at Ad Lib, Glasgow, Fri 2 Sep.
