WIN TICKETS TO THE OPENING NIGHT OF EDINDOCS

Edindocs is the International Documentary Film Festival that provides an annual showcase for independent documentary films from around the world. Hosted from 16 18 September 2011 at the Churchill Theatre in Edinburgh, the festival works alongside the Scottish Documentary Institute and the Scottish Screen Archive at the National Library of Scotland to present unique and provoking documentary films and film-makers from around the world.

Edindocs 2011 has attracted over 350 submissions from all over the world, and with generous support from Baillie Gifford Investment Managers and Scottish Screen Archive at the National Library, is able to award prizes for the Best Feature and Best Short documentaries. Opening with Anthony Baxters controversial You’ve Been Trumped, the festival offers a distinctly Scottish avour. Other features from or about Scotland include an exploration of the impact of deforestation in the Highlands with Where The Wild Things Were from Amber Cherry Eames, Jimmy, a portrait of the disabled rights campaigner Jimmy McIntosh, from the critically acclaimed Martin Smith and the provoking Fistful of Roses from Leo Bruges.

Edindocs may be a small festival but it packs a lot in, and is set to continue growing in reach and influence. The full programme is available at edindocs.com and tickets start at £12 for a 3 feature session.
