Subculture Guests are infrequent at Glasgow’s premier Saturday night house blow-out, but they’re always first-rate when they arrive. This week residents Harri and Domenic will welcome long- time friend of the club Dixon (Innervisions), all the way from Berlin. Sub Club, Glasgow, Sat 20 Aug.
Oh My Days The first date of a new event from DJ Martin Moffat and Killer Kitsch’s Euan Nielson, featuring the Glasgow debut of Paris’ French Fries (Young Gunz), a DJ with a particularly Latin style who was playing sets at Favela Chic when he was 14. La Cheetah, Glasgow, Sat 20 Aug.
Sensu Boat Party After Sensu’s first summer rave on the waves in July, the boat will depart once more from Glasgow Science Centre for another evening of house action. This time out the guests will be Toronto’s Art Department (Crosstown Rebels), although no news on the afterparty as yet. Glasgow Science Centre, Glasgow, Fri 19 Aug.
Argonaut Sounds Meets Bass Warrior Two of Glasgow’s biggest dub reggae sound systems join forces for a show in the underground atmosphere of the African-Caribbean Centre. Expect soul-shaking bass and a purist’s pick of music at this bring your own beers party. African-Caribbean Centre, Glasgow, Fri 19 Aug.
Menergy Regular hosts and resident showgirls Lady Munter and Vanity Von Glow present a party filled with drag performance art and dirty party tracks, now with added Italo sounds for one month only, courtesy of special guest Brian D’Souza (Slabs of the Tabernacle/Highlife).
