T o be 3D or not to be 3D? Quite a question for the bright sparks behind the much anticipated 3 D H a m l e t : A L o s t G e n e ra t i o n, which appears on this year’s Fringe. Adapted by inventive Stateside collective Fundamental Theater Project, this part-reading, part-multimedia show offers a rotating cast of seasoned performers, including Alec Baldwin (on screen as Hamlet’s murdered father), Linda Marlowe and Anthony Rapp. This new,
contemporary adaptation, a ‘distillation’ of Shakespeare’s work, promises to probe the bigger questions about the nature of truth for a ‘lost generation’, bringing the Bard bang into the 21st century. 3D Hamlet: A Lost Generation, theSpaces on the Miles, 0845 508 8316, 7–27 Aug (not 14, 21), 8.40pm, £10 (£7).
