New Jersey dweller Dayve (that’s right, there’s a ‘Y’ in there) Hawk first made a name for himself as frontman of Hail Social, then put out solo stuff under the names Memory Cassette and Weird Tapes. His first album as Memory Tapes was Seek Magic, a bendy, dreamy, kaleidoscopic-pop affair, which generated a very well-deserved buzz, and left him forever linked to the ‘chillwave’ scene.
