Charley and Hattie are the Webb Sisters, delivering harmonious folk- pop. They sang backing vocals for Leonard Cohen on his recent world-tour, and were described as ‘sublime’ by the man himself. The Kent-born ladies write many of their own songs and play harp, guitar and mandolin. Their new third album, Savages (out Mon 9 May) includes songs about persecution, courage, and heartbreak – no wonder Mr Cohen gave it his thumbs up. ■ Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh, Sun 22 May.
