Barn Owl
After releasing debut album Ancestral Star last year, Jon Porras and Evan Caminiti of San Francisco’s Barn Owl return with an EP ‘Shadowland’ (released in June on Thrill Jockey) – a pulse-calming, hazy wash of drone, black metal and ambient sounds. Like Ennio Morricone on the wrong speed, it creates a visceral, sometimes unsettling meeting of light and dark.
