AroundTown Walk, walk, fashion baby
Yowza. Fashion-show-in-a-club Nightwalk returns to the Arches with a SS2011 collection, once again setting up its gigantic catwalk in the middle of the dancefloor to showcase over 20 of the most exciting upcoming designers from Scotland and around. It’s run entirely by fashion and music enthusiasts, rather than by an organisation, so there’s a really lovely, genuine, hands-on feel to proceedings that’s missing from many of Scotland’s other fashion events.
Designers this year include Obscure Couture, ten30 and Betty Spoke, the DJs are Ursula and Italo-house experts Mustang Sally, Southern belle Cat Aclysmic will be spicing up the runway with some bondage-tipped burlesque, and for extra-sensory appeal the clubbers will be immersed in a live graphic art animation over five screens around the space. ■ The Arches, Glasgow, Sat 22 Apr, 10pm–2am, £15
