Born to be Wide: Music Photography night
art loving, comedy laughing,
attraction visiting, theatre going, hill walking, scotland touring,
club dancing, beer swilling, sport crazy, film watching, music listening, hotel staying
money spenders?
We’ll target them
With the music industry being the fickle and hard-to-please mistress she is these days, it’s nice to know that there are still folks like Born to be Wide around. Launched in 2004, the organisation provides a meeting place for those wishing to break into the industry, and those who want to help them do it. This particular session is geared towards music photographers, with a seminar featuring some long- term professional snappers, followed by an Oxfam-facilitated record-playing session. There are discounts for 16–17 year olds, and non-photographer musician-types are encouraged to attend as well – it’s handy to know what a good picture portfolio can do for your band’s exposure. ■ Electric Circus, Edinburgh, Thu 3 Feb. See page 63 for details of how to win tickets.
