Woozy guitar-poppers Beach House can proudly boast of having friends in high places, with Jay-Z and Beyoncé attending their shows, and Cat Power, Grizzly Bear and Vampire Weekend requesting their presence on tour. The company they keep gives some indication as to their varied sound; Beach House have been quickly given the label ‘dream pop’ by the music press, due to their drifting, hypnotic guitar and keyboard-generated melodies and frontwoman Victoria Legrand’s pyschedelia-influenced vocals (listen to latest album Teen Dreams then stick Jefferson Airplane on to see what we mean). ■ Oran Mor, Glasgow, Sat 20 Nov.
