Leeds-based Phoenix Dance Theatre always make for interesting viewing, and this quadruple bill is no exception. Phillip Taylor’s Haunted Passages looks at the thoughts that trouble us while trying to sleep, Aletta Collins’ Maybe Yes Maybe, Maybe No Maybe is performed under a dangling microphone and Sri Lankan Isira Makuloluwe makes his UK debut with Locked In Vertical. But perhaps most interesting is Warren Adams’ The Audacious One, based on Barack Obama’s ‘Audacity of Hope’ speech, for which Phoenix is joined by the very watchable ex-Scottish Ballet dancer, Paul Liburd. ■ Brunton Theatre, Musselburgh, Sat 9 Oct.
