15 Vidal Sassoon Claire Sawers talks to the legendary hair stylist, whose autobiography,Vidal: The Life and Career of a Style Icon, brings him to the Book Festival. It covers his well-known exploits in haute coiffure, as well as his time fighting fascism in Britain after World War Two. 36 Bliss Peter Carey’s 1981 novel about a marketing man suffering a mid-life crisis may not seem like the most obvious source material for an opera, but Opera Australia have made the story their own.
