Latest release Micah P Hinson and the Pioneer Micah P Hinson Saboteurs is awash with pleasant, countrified strings, but these disguise Hinson’s underlying rage. He’s angry about the state of America, and is unafraid to speak his mind: ‘The pioneer saboteurs ain’t just a name for a band. It’s a revolution, man. Who is willing to pick up their axes? Who is willing to draw their arms? Without folks doing this in the past, I ain’t sure it would be a world I would recognise.
